VAMPIRE / PHANTASM β Split 7β / Digital TS56 Out late December / early January
βIt’s here, the highly-anticipated split EP between Naarm’s two finest contemporary anarcho-punk-styled powerhouses, released on Boorloo’s relentless and respected Televised Suicide. Vampire, slingshotting right off the momentum of their instant classic “What Seems Forever Can Be Broken” LP, are all set to continue this streak with a longer traditionally pounding number in the vein of D.I.R.T. and Flux of Pink Indians. Meanwhile, Phantasm follow up their monumental debut “Conflict Reality” EP on Hardcore Victim and lathe-cut split with Romansy on Wintergarden with more of their charging update to long-proven international punk sounds, punching in a similar division of intensity as modern bands like Mirage and Spirito Di Lupo. While it must be an exciting time for Naarm heads to witness Vampire and Phantasm frequently on the same stage, this record provides just enough of a glimpse for the rest of us to… be extremely envious.β
